Abstract:

Amyloidosis belongs to the protein conformational diseases, the main pathogenesis of which includes the imbalance of proteostasis and the misfolding of precursor proteins. Similar to the role of intracellular chaperones, extracelluar chaperones can facilitate the correct folding of proteins and clean the misfolded or aggregated proteins. It is noted that amyloidosis is accompanied by the deposition of extracelluar chaperones, but their roles in the occurrence and development of amyloidosis are still unclear. This article listed several common chaperones and reviewed their structure, function, and roles in the pathogenesis of amyloidosis.

Key words: Amyloidosis, Extracelluar chaperones, Proteostasis, Amyloid fibril, Precursor protein
