Abstract:

Immunomodulation is an important determinant in controlling the progression of malignant tumors. The development of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has revolutionized the treatments and significantly improved the survival of patients with cancer in less than a decade. Despite the remarkable clinical benefits of ICIs, they also bring the toxicity risk of immune-related adverse events. This article reviewed the mechanism, incidence, pathological types, diagnosis, and treatment strategies of ICIs- associated renal side effects.

Key words: Immunotherapy, Immune checkpoint inhibitors, Acute kidney injury, Acute interstitial nephritis
