Abstract:

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a severe disease with a high incidence and mortality, which also has a high incidence of clinical adverse events. Some AKI patients even may develop into chronic kidney diseases (CKD) ultimately. The specific period of 7 days to 90 days after the onset of AKI is called acute kidney diseases (AKD). It is of great significance for us to understand and manage AKD so that we can prevent the development of AKI into CKD. Therefore, AKD has already attracted considerable attention of scholars recently at home and abroad. Acute Disease Quality Initiative (ADQI) 2017 reached a consensus on this issue and it was officially published in 2017. The consensus updated the concept of AKD, and elaborated its clinical stages and prevention as well as treatment systematically. Moreover, it pointed out the future direction of clinical research of AKD, and laid the foundation for the clinical diagnosis and management measures of AKD. This article carried out a preliminary interpretation of this consensus in order to arouse peer attention.

Key words: Acute kidney disease (AKD), Clinical stage, Follow-up, Drug management
