Abstract:

The circadian rhythm abnormalities of blood pressure are potent predictors of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in patients with hypertension. In patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), regardless of whether their blood pressure levels are normal or not, the abnormal circadian rhythm of blood pressure is very common, and is an independent risk factor for CKD progression and cardiovascular complications, Therefore, during the management of bood pressure in patients with CKD, in addition to standard control of blood pressure levels, more attention should be paid to the monitoring, evaluation, and active intervention of nocturnal blood pressure and the circadian rhythm of blood pressure. The main measures include 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, lifestyle changes, salt restriction, joint use of antihypertensive medication, and medicine-taking at bedtime.
