Abstract:

As the first choice of vascular access for hemodialysis patients, the establishment and maintenance of arteriovenous fistulas are crucial in hemodialysis treatment. Because of its non-invasive, repeatable, real-time detection characteristics, Doppler ultrasonography has been increasingly widely used in the assessment of arteriovenous fistulas, including preoperative fistula evaluation, vessels screening for fistula establishment, maturity evaluation of fistula, identification of early postoperative complications, and timely assistance in endovascular interventional therapy, etc. This article reviewed the application progress of ultrasonography in the evaluation of autologous arteriovenous fistula.

Key words: Doppler ultrasonography, Vascular access, Arteriovenous fistula
