Abstract:

Acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by a variety of reasons is a common acute and severe clinical syndrome, which often leads to loss of renal function or death of the patients. Blood purification is frequently supplied in the treatment of AKI. It is not only a kind of renal replacement technology, but also plays a supporting role for multiple organ functions in critically ill patients. Giving the reasonable dosage of blood purification in time closely correlates to the survival of patients and recovery of renal function as well as their prognosis. But for different AKI patients, there are still many disputes about the blood purification models, the treatment doses, and when to start or terminate the treatment. In this review, we discuss the new realization and progress about blood purification therapy for AKI patients.

Key words: Acute kidney injury, Blood purification, Continuous renal replacement therapy
