Abstract:

Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients generally have microinflammation of different degrees. The microinflammation in PD patients participates in and mediates peritoneal injury, promotes the development of peritoneal fibrosis, and seriously affects the quality of life and survival rate of PD patients. Currently, there is a lack of specific clinical drugs for prevention and treatment of microinflammation in PD patients. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) believes that spleen deficiency, qi weakness, and toxic damage to the abdominal collaterals are the main pathogenesis for PD microinflammation to induce peritoneal injury. The method of strengthening spleen and replenishing qi can prevent and treat the peritoneal injury induced by PD microinflammation so as to protect the peritoneal function. Under the guidance of TCM theory, it will provide new methods for prevention and treatment of the PD microinflammation with TCM, to combine the understanding of the mechanism of peritoneal injury induced by PD microinflammation with the modern medicine, in order to form a TCM system for preventing and treating the PD microinflammation-related peritoneal injury.
