Abstract:

Vascular access is the lifeline of hemodialysis patients, which plays an important role in improving the adequacy of dialysis and quality of life. At present in China, clinical monitoring of vascular access mainly relies on clinical experience including physical examination and medical imaging examination, which is far from accurate monitoring. With the rapid development of medical level, it is necessary to standardize the clinical monitoring of vascular access, so as to detect stenosis and occlusion earlier and more accurately, promptly manage to effectively extend the service lives of vascular access, and prolong the lives of hemodialysis patients ultimately. In order to provide clinical guidance for vascular access physicians, this article introduced the latest progress in clinical monitoring of vascular access, through reviewing the relationship between vascular access and physical examination, ultrasound, digital subtraction angiography (DSA), the timing of early vascular puncture, and cardiac function.
